(Note: Jenny was, and still is, widely known as ‘Jenny Bright’. Jenny Cross is her married name, which she started using for her psychic work in late 2001).

Jenny has always been psychic, from her earliest childhood memories. At first, as a very young child, she assumed that everyone knew things that were going to happen and saw people and animals which had long since died. She quickly discovered around the age of 6 or so, that other people did not have such experiences as commonplace and she had to learn to be wary as to with whom she discussed her psychic experiences. Luckily, she had Aunts and Grandparents who were psychic and mediumistic, so she was never told “don’t be silly, of course you can’t know that/see that, etc.”, and her psychic talents were allowed to develop rather than be crushed by adult logic.

By her teenage years, her powers became something of a play-ground attraction, all of her young school-friends wanting to know things about themselves, their potential boyfriends and so on.

A marriage and two children in her early twenties gave her other things to think about for many years, until her psychic powers began to come to the fore in her early thirties, and despite her own intentions at the time, she began to do some psychic readings. Her reputation spread rapidly and she soon found herself fully occupied with doing professional psychic work, which continues to this day.

University Demonstrations.

1993 was Jenny's 8th consecutive year demonstrating her speciality of Psychometry (the art of 'reading' information from an object by psychic means) before a live, critical audience at Loughborough University. The late Professor Emeritus Arthur J. Ellison DSc(Eng), CEng, FIMechE, FIEE, SenMemIEEE, an eminent academic who also made a lifetime study of the paranormal, conducted a week-long summer school on the paranormal every year, with attendees from all over the world. One participant of the summer school of 1992 wrote a paper on Jenny's demonstration, which was published in "The Psi Researcher" (No.8 Winter 1993), the publication of the world respected Society for Psychical Research. The result reported was that out of 160 statements of fact made by Jenny, 125 were found to be correct, a staggering success rate by any measure. (The remaining 35 statements were not necessarily incorrect, but many of them could not be immediately verified.)

In 1987, also at the request of Professor Ellison, Jenny demonstrated Mediumship at an international meeting at Manchester University, before an audience of 50 people.

Jenny has also filmed several pieces for local TV news, concerning various paranormal investigations in which she has been involved. In September 1995, she hit the headlines in the local press, BBC and ITV local TV news, national Radio 1 and Radio Five Live news bulletins, The News of the World, The Sun and several other publications, regarding "Basil", a lost dog which was found through Jenny's psychic ability. The dog had gone missing 24 hours earlier and its owner had been out for hours searching for it. He phoned Jenny for help and she could psychically "see" the dog quite clearly and described its surroundings. The owner recognised the area but protested he had been out there for hours and the dog was not there. "Yes it is", persisted Jenny, "you must go out there now, he's waiting for you". The owner went out on Jenny's prompting and the dog ran up to him just where Jenny had seen him. He would otherwise have stayed in and given up the search.

Other Activities.

In addition to her full-time work as a medium and psychic counsellor, Jenny has run a variety of themed "ghost" events in partnership with her husband, Dr. David Cross, and has specialised in corporate entertaining to high-level business audiences. Jenny and David have run a wide variety of Workshops, both in the UK and abroad, on personal development and psychic/paranormal themes. For 18 months they taught a 6-Unit series of night classes at a College of Further Education on paranormal/personal development subjects.
